Guante’s Pack • $5–$10 at a time

A bridge built one pawprint at a time.

Guante Bridge turns Guante’s story into second chances for other dogs. We sponsor adoptions one dog at a time.

We keep it simple: the pack donates $5–$10. When we reach an adoption fee goal ($275 for seniors up to $575 for puppies), we sponsor the next dog — and then we restart.

Guante’s Pack: small donations that add up to a life-changing adoption.

What Guante Taught Us

Guante’s life wasn’t defined by what happened to him — it was defined by how he lived. He endured hardship, injury, and change… and still chose joy, trust, and love.

Resilience isn’t loud. Sometimes it looks like a happy dog on three legs chasing a ball. Guante reminds us: second chances matter — and kindness changes lives.

Guante’s Story

For most of his life, Guante survived on the streets of La Paz, Mexico. Volunteers from a local rescue knew him for years — feeding him, watching over him, and hoping he’d finally be chosen.

Around 2018, Guante was likely hit by a car. His front leg fractured and became badly infected. With deep cleaning and extensive antibiotics, the infection healed. The bone had already fused on its own — but not correctly — leaving the leg damaged. Even so, Guante kept going: running, exploring, and chasing balls like he had somewhere important to be.

On February 18, 2020, Guante arrived in Portland, Oregon and finally stepped into the life he’d waited for — love, safety, toys, and belonging.

The old injury sometimes flared with infection, managed with careful treatment and antibiotics. In March 2025, the damaged front leg was amputated. It didn’t stop him. Guante adapted quickly and continued living fully — joyful, athletic, and unstoppable.

On February 19, 2026, after six years and one day of the good life, Guante made his way peacefully over the bridge — leaving behind a story that keeps helping other dogs.
